A motel clerk misuses Borges, Mohammed, and our President in an effort to prove through looking-glass logic that he is the very model of a modern NPR host.

Well done sir. As a fellow Austinite Texan who didn't make the cut, you make me dream again. I wish you all the luck, all the luck. I'll go read your blog now ;o)

Prior to winning, you said to me: "yes, yes. we unqualified moped riding mindless job brain eaters will indeed live on in extra-dimensional metallic rainbow perpetuity long after we're (un)dead.."

Now I say to you: "Unqualified? Perhaps. Talented? Definately. Thank you for your effort. It's inspiring to the rest of us. Congratulations."

The plenty of clever analogy and subversive wit leads me to believe you would be a terrible radio host without any funny ideas or creative insights.

Don't give up your day job. (I might need some more work soon.)

I am giving this five big, fat gold stars, wheaty. I absolutely loved this entry. Very intelligent, but funny. You talk about global, historical, local, political, contemporary and personal subjects in just two minutes. And best of all, you SHOWED me, you didn't tell me. I learn by example, I hate being told what I should like. And you, wheaty, have done it all right to make me fall in love with this entry. I'm going to listen to it again, just so I can hear that ending! Great. Simply wonderful. This is smart entertainment.

Or if you look at it through Borges' lens you find me, thrilled and impressed, my mouth gaping - not in a yawn - but in an astonished "O" of delight. I'm so glad I found you. A wonderful way to spend two minutes or in my case six, no, make that eight. It's worth several listens.

You had me hooked - I had to keep listening to see how it ended... and I learned a little something about Borges in the process.

The end "reveal" from the by-now (to me, unfortunately) standard "here's me and here's what I'm about" was great! The topic was great the whole time, and the writing was wonderful, but you know how it is, after you've listened to 3 trillion of these you start to get a little jaded!
Its awesome to know that the remaining 100 billion I have to check out will still contain gems I haven't heard yet!
Great job, sir. 4 out of 5!

but this is a five star entry I will undoubtedly come back to visit.

p.s. five stars -- that's four stars more than your state's lone star -- you should run for office with all those extra stars and no camels to your credit.

p.s.s. Sorry for the cheesey response after you commented so kindly on my entry. PRTQ has worn me down. I have no more clever quips to dispense.

Following this logic then, a married, mother of one who we see going about her daily routine, driving her toyota, still squeezing in to her skinny jeans, still rocking her converse, living in a lively, but quaint urban setting, may find her true authentic self perhaps by hooking on the decadent las vegas strip, pimping herself in the night, wearing hot pants, torn fishnets, a pair of clear plastic stilettos and rockin' a really bad case of the crabs?
