Peter Sagal

"Think about some of the people you like to listen to on the radio. Maybe they do great interviews or tell stories that keep you from leaving the car. Maybe they're DJs who always seem to pick the right music at the right time. Maybe they're someone like me who won a sweepstakes at my local radio station and got this job.

This is Peter Sagal from Wait Wait Don't Tell Me and if you've ever thought about being on the radio you have come to the right website. The Public Radio Talent Quest is a new idea. We're asking people like you to step forward as the next generation of public radio hosts. We're looking for people who are engaging and smart, the personalities people want to spend time with. Not necessarily physically attractive--this is radio, we won't be able to see you.

If you think you have the stuff, click the "Enter the Quest" button and get registered. The winners get 16,000 dollars in cash and the chance to make their own show. A team of radio pros and the public will pick the winners this fall.

Turns out, there are *several* entrants who have made a point of doing just that, which is actually wherein this competition differs, & it is sad.

They have big points, though.

If that tactic works for them, I will not listen to them - ever.

It's difficult to teach my daughter fair sportsmanship, when she sees "grown-ups" purposely leaving negative comments (not even necessarily for ME), consistently.

I do not envy the task of listening to every1.

I also appreciate the table-turn of Radio personalities having to be the listeners, in this case.

Is there any way we might be able to have these available to us for download, so we can play them on our current stations/podcasts?
