People have asked me, "Glynn, why are you not blogging! What are you up to?" Well . . . all kinds of things. But, in my spare time, I started a new sport. It's called "Parkour". Incidentally, I recently changed my name to David Belle. You can see me practicing here: more...[Glynn} My favorite newspaper article . . . ever!

What’s in your Ipod? I love, love, love podcasts. I subscribe to FAR too many. I hope Chuck Mertz , Bee Jellyfish and Rebecca Watson are already on your MP3 player. But there are a few others I never miss and can’t wait to share. First, for my science fiction nerds. Steve Eley’s EscapePod may very well be the best pure podcast out there. Each week, he delivers a modern or classic short story, ably read by a large roster of professional-sounding talent. more...
Q & A
Why should you be on Public Radio?
Two reasons:1) I have a great big bag full of stories, and every one is better than the next.
2) I love public radio the way a baby elephant loves his mother.
Who is your favorite host and why?
Benjamen Walker is the Muhammad Ali of storytelling. He bobs and weaves and when you think he is going to hit you with the right Benjamen goes for the jab, leaving you spinning and sputtering like Joe Frazier. What would people be surprised to learn about you?
I learned storytelling the old fashioned way - raised in an apocalyptic cult that kept changing the date of the "End Time" (Jesus never showed up). When you tell everyone Jesus is coming next Tuesday and no one appears, extreme storytelling dexterity is needed in order to fill the church the next week. Our leaders were up for the task. I misspent my childhood studying at the feet of such shysters.Bio
Born into a wacky crazy cult. Escaped. Lived in Asia for some time. Now I get to fight the man as Director of a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the world. What's your favorite public radio show?
Benjamen Walker's Theory of Everything, and (of course) This American Life . . .What's your secret talent?
It's amazing. Given five minutes, I can convince 85% of the populace that I have actual magic powers. What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?
Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go!What sound is most characteristic of where you live?
Mad screaming, and requests for spare change. What's your favorite sound memory?
Well . . . my SECOND favorite sound memory was a "piffffffttTT" when the third stage of my handmade model rocket popped off properly to release the parachute - then the awed silence of my sixth grade pals who saw the whole thing . . .Which station do you listen to most?

"Smart move, coldkoolin. You make your entry so suspenseful that the judges have to move you the next round to find out what happens! Why didn't I think of that?"

Judges' Comments
"A storyteller's voice, with a sense for the dramatic; Great pacing. A voice full of the sound of a life lived, witnessed, considered."
