Diaspora Tour 2007
Questers, I appreciate the love. So I’m about to take you on vacation. Get your bags packed and passports out – we’re going for a ride.
I’m calling it, “Diaspora Tour 2007”.
We start off in Belize, with the master of Garifuna. Check out my boy Andy Palacio (you may have to give this a second to load):
Since we’re so close - it would be wrong if we forgot to make that quick Cuba hop to groove with the Orishas:
Next up is a long flight over to the continent, to see out how French boys rock their rhyme. Make no mistake, Oxmo Puccino does not play:
Now we speed back to Brazil, the CENTER of all that is good musically in the world today. Senior Statesman, Seu Jorge, sings about his “Carolina”.
We’ve got to stay in Brazil for a quick minute, because Jair Oliveria makes everything sound so pretty:
Back in the States my girl Jill Scott is all that is, could, and ever should be. Listen to her LIVE, BABY!
When we head back home, let’s stop in by the subway and remember that some of the best artists don’t have a recording (or radio) contract:
Hope you enjoyed the trip. Peace and soul.
Glynn
Off to a quick start, Glynn. Thanks for the trip. I have long been a fan of Brasilian music. "Otros palavros", The spread of music like this puts a silver lining on the cloud of Diaspora.
