I'd say the programming i mean it's not like they are throwing contests giving away madonna tickets so if there's nothing else in it id like to enjoy what im listening to on the radio stations better.

April's voice has a wonderful clarity. The 'questioning' voice though well-controlled and casually professional had some unusual inflections, which did not always sound correct to me. I liked her being interviewed; April's answers made me want to visit Oregon.

I'd donate to WBEZ if they brought back jazz at night, hired a new GM, and got rid of the slogans that they read for all of their underwriters. Oh yeah, and add This Is Hell! to their programming schedule.

I love the quick and timely humor on "Wait, Wait." It's the high point of my week on OPB, along with some new weekend evening music programming that has a more contemporary twist, and also "Speaking of Faith." Those of you who don't like any particular program, consider - others probably have to tolerate some stuff that YOU really, really like. Public radio is for all of us who contribute, not just the few who think themselves to be at the pinnacle of modern culture.

I contribute as generously as I am able on my small income so that everybody can, I hope, get to hear something they love. So please don't lobby to take away my favorite show. Leave some room in your imaginations for other kinds of people, please!

If donating to a local station would stop them from punishing us with pledge drives.

Not so easy replacing our sorry ass of a government when corporate money ALREADY OWNS IT!

A cargo-net full of puppies. They'd be rigged to my alarm clock and when it was time to get up the system would drop them onto my bed and they'd romp and attack my ears and stuff. If they can't do that then yeah - decent local programming.

on WBEZ, bring back jazz...less corporate influence...fewer npr drones who sound like Scott Simon on a heroin bender...hire Chuck Mertz...Yeah, I concur, shitcan the Maletia guy...kill off All Things Considered...ditto for Wait,Wait, blah, blah and the annoying folksy dimwit from Wisconsin and his studio audience...speaking of folksy dimwits, audiocast of dueling autoerotic asphyxiation between Garrison Keillor and Ira Glass...No More Folksy Dimwits,Damn It!

After having contacted the programming director for our local NPR station on severl occasions by phone and email and not getting the courtesy of a reply, even once, I assumed they don't want or need my donation.

I'll give WBEZ $100 the day they fire Torey Maletia. And then, assuming that they replace that disaster of a general manager with someone who is not determined to remove every shred of character from the station, I'd renew that pledge every year.

Barfuss, did you vote for the bathtub full of kittens?

Submitted by Jim Barfuss on August 1, 2007 - 6:15pm.

Those kittens will grow up, and I didn't see an offer for automatic changes of the bathtub-sized litter box those kittens would need.

Throw out the talk on WSHU. Let's hear some music for once....and not just classical. Listen to the people, feel free to experiment and make it a true "public" radio station!
