Bio: Born in Tennessee, roots in Harlan, KY, where my mother, a coalminer's daughter, married the only Jew in town. That's the spirits, I like to think, Appalachian bluegrass story-telling and my Paw's Mayakovskian blasts. Raised in a little river town on the Ohio, came to New York for college and never left. Started making a living as a poet in my 20s and somehow still do.
