Bio

I grew up in Roscoe, NY, also known as "Trout Town, USA." I live and work in the same area, nestled here in upstate NY among the foothills of the Catskill mountains.

I'm employed as a reporter for a small local newspaper and as the Instructor/Mentor for the Youth Radio Project at community station WJFF.

As a volunteer at WJFF, I tackle most aspects of radio production, but writing, editing, and hosting are my strong points.

From 2001 to 2006, I produced my own freeform music program called "Telepathic Radio." It's currently on hiatus as I do the planning and scripting for my next show, weekly comedy program that will still be called "Telepathic Radio." It will be on the air whether I win this contest or not, but the prize money would certainly help make it happen more smoothly.

This American Life.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

"Dance This Mess Around" by the B-52s.

What's your favorite sound memory?

My mother is a church organist and accompianist. My earliest and favorite sound memories are of her practicing at home, especially Mussorgsky's "Promenade" and the Beatles' "Oh Darling."
