I've got a bluegrass show on 91.5fm, WPRK in Central Florida (Saturdays, 1 to 3pm et) and I'm an arts contributor for The Arts Connection on 90.7fm, WMFE. I also sing, take photos, bellydance, you name it!

I have a skewed sense of humor and a deep, abiding respect for each person's story. I love interviewing artists and try to get to the heart of why they do what they do. And I can talk to anyone--and will do so without the slightest bit of encouragement; some folks are initially taken aback but most eventually end up adoring me fiercely--if they don't my loved ones assure me there is something horribly wrong with those clueless #@&#s!
My biggest goal now is to connect with a wider array of subjects (and listeners) in the hopes of creating radio that positively affects this world. Too lofty a goal? Nope.

What's your favorite public radio show?

This is tough. I love A Prairie Home Companion, This American Life, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Fresh Air, Car Talk, The Arts Connection, The Old Home Place (my bluegrass show) and David Dees' bluegrass show on 89.9, WUCF. Anything connected with the Center for Documentary Studies always has a profound effect on me.

What's your secret talent?

Hmm, I don't tend to keep my talents a secret. I usually find some creative outlet for them. I can convince people they absolutely have to see this particular band or go have an amazing organic salad at that particular teahouse, and I tell them they'll love it and they'll end up thanking me for it. And it always happens just that way. Luckily I only use my power for good.

What song is stuck in your head right now, you know, a music wedgie?

Colorshow by The Avett Brothers. And music wedgie is an awesome term!!

What sound is most characteristic of where you live?

Independent music.

What's your favorite sound memory?

My grandma saying "Water" in her southern drawl.
